Edesy call forwarding costs Rs 1.00 per minute of connected talk time, billed in 60-second pulses with a 1-minute minimum, plus the monthly rental of your virtual number. Calls are paid from a prepaid INR wallet. With the default connect-on-pickup setting, a call nobody answers is not charged. All prices exclude 18% GST.

A 2 minute 6 second call is billed as 3 minutes: Rs 3.00. The price of each call is shown in the call log and returned in the API `price` field.

## When billing starts

- **Connect on pickup (default):** the caller's leg is answered only when someone on your team picks up, so you pay for talk time only.
- **Hold audio on:** the caller is answered straight away so they can hear the audio, so billing starts then, not when your team answers. See [Hold Music](https://edesy.in/docs/call-forwarding/rules/hold-music).

## Wallet

- Calls are paid from a prepaid INR wallet. Top up with Razorpay. Each top-up gets a GST invoice, and you can add your GSTIN for Input Tax Credit.
- You need at least Rs 1.00 in the wallet for a call to be routed. Below that, callers hear "Service temporarily unavailable" until you top up.
- The portal shows a low-balance warning below Rs 5.

## Numbers

Number rental is charged to the wallet when you buy and then monthly. Supported numbers can be prepaid for several months, and renewal is automatic. Buying a number needs KYC.

## FAQ

**Is there a monthly fee for forwarding itself?**
No. You pay the number rental and the per-minute rate for connected calls.

**Am I charged for calls nobody answers?**
Not with the default connect-on-pickup setting. With hold audio on, the caller is answered to hear the audio, so that time is billed.

**How are minutes rounded?**
In 60-second pulses with a 1-minute minimum. A 61-second call is 2 minutes.

**Does ringing five phones cost five times as much?**
No. You pay for the connected call, at Rs 1.00 per minute.

**Is GST included?**
No. Prices exclude 18% GST.
