# Reminder Message and Voice

> Write the Edesy Collect reminder message, pick an optional voice ID, and have it rendered to audio once and replayed on every reminder call.

Source: https://edesy.in/docs/collect/campaigns/reminder-message-and-voice

Each Collect campaign plays one reminder message. You type the text and optionally a voice ID, then click Save & render: Collect turns the text into speech once, stores the audio, and replays that same file on every call. Because the audio is cached, you are not charged per call for speech synthesis.

## Set the message

**Portal:** open the campaign, type the text under **Voice message**, add a voice ID if you have one, and click **Save & render**. The card shows the current mode (`audio` once rendered).

**API:**

```bash
curl -X POST https://voice-api.edesy.in/v1/collect/campaigns/CAMPAIGN_ID/message \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sk_your_api_key" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"text": "Hello, this is a reminder from your lender. Your EMI is due. Please pay at the earliest to avoid late charges.", "voice": ""}'
```

| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `text` | Yes | The words spoken on the call. An empty text returns `400 message text is required`. |
| `voice` | No | Voice ID to speak the text. Leave empty for the default voice. |

The response is the updated campaign. After rendering, `audio_type` is `audio` and `audio_url` points to the cached file. You can save a new message at any time; later calls use the new audio.

## Writing a good reminder

- Keep it short: 15 to 25 seconds. Calls are billed in 60-second units, and short messages are heard to the end.
- Say who is calling in the first sentence.
- Say what to do next: pay through your usual link or app, or call your helpline.
- Write the text in the language your debtors speak, and test it on your own phone with a one-debtor campaign before a full run.

## Limits today

- One message per campaign, the same for every debtor. Reading out each debtor's own name, amount or due date on the call is not available yet. Split debtors into separate campaigns if you need different messages.
- The call plays the message; it does not take keypad input or talk with the debtor.

## FAQ

**Am I charged for text-to-speech on every call?**
No. The message is rendered once and the audio file is replayed.

**Can I change the message after starting?**
Yes. Save a new message and later attempts play it.

**Where do I find voice IDs?**
Leave the field empty to use the default voice. If you have a specific voice ID from our team, paste it in.
