# Email

> The Email node emails your workspace owner when a call reaches it, then continues the call.

Source: https://edesy.in/docs/ivr/nodes/email

The Email node sends an email notification to your workspace owner when a call reaches it, then continues the call straight away. The subject and message can use tokens such as `{{caller}}`, `{{menu_choice}}` and `{{voicemail_url}}`. Place it right after a menu branch to report which option the caller chose.

## Settings

| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Subject | Yes | E.g. `New {{menu_choice}} enquiry from {{caller}}` |
| Message | No | E.g. `{{caller}} chose {{menu_choice}} at {{time}}.` |

Exits: one. The call doesn't wait for the email.

## Useful tokens

| Token | Value |
|---|---|
| `{{caller}}` | Caller's number |
| `{{did}}` | The number they called |
| `{{menu_choice}}` | The menu option's label, e.g. `Support` |
| `{{digits}}` | The raw key pressed |
| `{{voicemail_url}}` | Link to the voicemail, if one was recorded |
| `{{time}}` | Current time in IST |
| `{{answer.<key>}}` | A spoken answer from an Ask node |

All tokens are listed in [Variables and Tokens](https://edesy.in/docs/ivr/variables-and-tokens). An unknown token is sent unchanged, so typos are easy to spot.

## Delivery

Every send is listed in [Email Logs](https://edesy.in/docs/ivr/logs/email-logs) with a status: sent, failed, suppressed (skipped by a burst guard) or no recipient (the owner's email couldn't be found).

## Flow checks

- "Email node has no subject." (error)
- "Email node has no next step - the call will end here." (warning)
