# Hangup

The Hangup node ends the call. It can speak an optional goodbye message first, such as "Thank you for calling. Goodbye." Use it at the end of each branch, including a menu's timeout branch, so callers get a clear ending instead of a sudden drop.

A node with no next step also ends the call, but without a goodbye. The builder warns about those.
