# Order Action

> The Order Action node confirms, cancels, tags or adds a note to an order on your connected store during a COD confirmation call.

The Order Action node updates the order on your connected store during an order confirmation call: confirm it, cancel it, add a tag or add a note. It works on calls placed by an order automation (COD Order Calls), which carry the order's details. With "Wait for the result" on, the call branches on Success or Failure from the store's reply.

## Settings

| Field | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Action | Confirm order | Confirm order, Cancel order, Add tag, Add note |
| Tag | | Required for Add tag, e.g. `voice:confirmed`. Tokens allowed |
| Note | | For Add note (optional with Add tag), e.g. `Confirmed by phone (attempt {{var.attempt}})` |
| Wait for the result (branch on Success / Failure) | On | Off: one exit, the call continues at once |

## Exits

| Wait for the result | Exits |
|---|---|
| On | **Success** and **Failure** |
| Off | One |

On a test call there is no order, so the node takes Failure.

## Order variables

Calls placed by an order automation carry these variables for Say and Menu prompts:

| Variable | Value |
|---|---|
| `{{var.order_id}}` | The store's order ID |
| `{{var.order_name}}` | Order name or number as the customer knows it |
| `{{var.order_number}}` | Order number |
| `{{var.customer_name}}` | Customer name |
| `{{var.cod_amount}}` | COD amount in rupees |
| `{{var.cod_amount_hindi}}` | COD amount spelled out in Hindi words |
| `{{var.total}}`, `{{var.total_hindi}}` | Order total, in digits and in Hindi words |
| `{{var.item_count}}` | Number of items |
| `{{var.store_name}}` | Your store name |
| `{{var.attempt}}` | Which call attempt this is |

In a Hindi flow, use `{{var.cod_amount_hindi}}` rather than `{{var.cod_amount}}`: TTS voices can misread digits inside a Hindi sentence.

## How it works

1. Your store sends an order event, and an order automation decides to call.
2. The call runs your flow with the order variables filled in.
3. The caller presses 1 or 2, and the Order Action node sends the request that you configured for that store (in **Integrations**, under Requests).
4. With wait on, the store's reply sends the call down Success or Failure, so the caller hears whether it worked.
5. Every request is listed in [HTTP Logs](https://edesy.in/docs/ivr/logs/http-logs) with the kind **Order action**.

The "COD confirmation (Hindi)" and "COD confirmation (English)" [templates](https://edesy.in/docs/ivr/templates) are built on this node. For the merchant-facing product, see [COD Order Calls](https://orders.edesy.in).
