# Missed Call Service

> How the Edesy missed call service works - an Indian virtual number, auto-rejected calls the caller never pays for, a missed-call log, CSV export and a signed real-time webhook.

Source: https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call

A caller dials your number, the call is cut automatically with a busy tone, and you get their number. The caller pays nothing, needs no app, no internet and no typing, and it works on any phone. You can then call them back, add them to a list, count votes or entries, or push the lead into your CRM.

> **Ready to start?** Sign in at [missedcall.edesy.in](https://missedcall.edesy.in), complete KYC and get your number. See [Your First Missed Call](https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call/getting-started/first-missed-call).

## How it works

1. **You get an Indian virtual number** in the portal (after KYC) with missed-call routing turned on. A number bought from the missed-call portal is switched on automatically.
2. **A caller dials it.** The call is rejected before it is answered: the caller hears a busy tone and the call ends at once. No minutes are billed to anyone.
3. **We record the call:** the caller's number (normalised to +91 E.164 format), the time, and which of your numbers they called.
4. **The lead reaches you** in up to three places:
   - the **missed-call log** in the portal (refreshes every 10 seconds)
   - a **CSV export** of up to 1,000,000 rows
   - an optional real-time **`call.missed` webhook** to your CRM, website or backend

## What is available today

- One or more Indian virtual numbers per account. Use one per campaign, ad, store or region and compare results.
- Dashboard with total calls, unique callers, today's count and a per-day chart (1 to 90 days), plus per-number stats
- Missed-call log you can filter by number, caller, date range and delivery status
- [CSV export](https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call/guides/csv-export), free when you have no webhook set
- [Real-time webhook](https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call/guides/webhook-setup) with an optional [HMAC-SHA256 signature](https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call/guides/verify-webhook-signature), a test button, a delivery log and [6 attempts over about 15 minutes, plus replay](https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call/guides/retries-and-replay)
- If an event cannot be delivered after all attempts, you are not charged for it
- [REST API](https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call/api-reference) at `https://voice-api.edesy.in/v1` with a Bearer API key
- Team access, with one login across Edesy apps
- [Send leads to Edesy CRM](https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call/guides/send-leads-to-edesy-crm) through its Custom webhook lead source (the CRM has a free plan)

Each number has a limit on how many calls it can take at the same moment. For TV, radio or election bursts, spread the campaign across several numbers.
