Indian telecom rules require KYC before a virtual number is assigned to you. Upload your documents on the **KYC** page of the portal. Review usually completes within 24 hours.

## Documents by business type

| Business type | Documents |
|---|---|
| Individual | PAN and Aadhaar |
| Proprietor | PAN, Aadhaar and address proof |
| Partnership / LLP | PAN, registration certificate, authorisation letter and address proof |
| Private / Public Limited | All of the above plus GST certificate |

## Buy a number

1. Open **Numbers** and choose **Buy**.
2. Pick an Indian virtual number from the list.
3. Check the price in the buy dialog. It shows the monthly rental and any one-time setup fee for that number before you confirm.
4. Confirm. The amount is taken from your wallet, so recharge first if needed (see [Pricing and Wallet](https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call/billing/pricing-and-wallet)).

A number bought from the missed-call portal has missed-call routing switched on automatically. A number you already own in another Edesy app can be switched to missed-call routing from the API with [`POST /missed-calls/numbers/:id/enable`](https://edesy.in/docs/missed-call/api-reference/numbers-and-plans).

## One number per campaign

Every call is tied to the number that was dialled, so the cleanest way to compare campaigns is one number per ad, newspaper, hoarding, store or region. Give each number a name you will recognise. That name is sent in the webhook as `phone_number_name`.

Each number can take a limited number of calls at the same moment. If you expect a burst (a TV spot, a rally, a contest deadline), use several numbers.
