# Setup Checklist

> The four setup steps in the Order Calls portal - verify your business, get a number, connect your store, and set up your first call rule - with what each step needs and where it happens.

The Get started screen at [orders.edesy.in](https://orders.edesy.in) lists four steps. Getting a number unlocks once your business is verified, and the call rule unlocks once you have both a store and a number. You can connect your store at any time. When all four are done, matching orders start getting calls.

## The four steps

| Step | What you do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Verify your business | Submit KYC (PAN, Aadhaar, and business documents for a company) | Edesy app, Verification |
| 2. Get a number to call from | Buy a number; this is the caller ID customers see | Edesy app, Numbers |
| 3. Connect your store | Add a store, copy the webhook URL and signing secret into it | Order Calls, Stores |
| 4. Set up your first call rule | Choose which orders to call, when, what to say and how many retries | Order Calls, Call rules |

Wallet, verification and buying a number live in the main Edesy app, so they are shared with every other Edesy product. The Order Calls sidebar links straight to them.

## Step 1: Verify your business

Indian telecom rules require business verification before outbound calls. Supported business types are individual, sole proprietor, partnership, private limited, public limited and LLP. Review usually takes about a day.

## Step 2: Get a number

Buy a number in the Edesy app. Each call rule can pick a specific number; if you leave it blank, the rule uses your first number. Settings in Order Calls lists the numbers you can call from.

## Step 3: Connect your store

1. Open **Stores** and add a store.
2. Give it a name and, optionally, a **store name** (spoken in the call) and an **action URL** where we send the result.
3. Leave the webhook signing secret blank to have one generated. It is shown once; copy it.
4. Copy the webhook URL into your store or middleware and send a test order.

## Step 4: Set up your first call rule

Open **Call rules** and create one. You choose:

- the store that triggers it (the event is "Order created")
- [conditions](https://edesy.in/docs/order-calls/call-rules/conditions): by default, payment method is `cod` and the COD order is not already confirmed
- the call script language, Hindi or English, and its wording ([Scripts](https://edesy.in/docs/order-calls/scripts/hindi-and-english-scripts))
- the caller ID number
- [timing and retries](https://edesy.in/docs/order-calls/call-rules/timing-and-retries)
- [outcome actions](https://edesy.in/docs/order-calls/call-rules/outcome-actions) and labels

Saving the rule creates and publishes the call for you. The next matching order gets a call.

## Before going live

- Top up your [wallet](https://edesy.in/docs/order-calls/getting-started/pricing). If the balance is too low, calls wait and are tried again every 15 minutes.
- Send one real test order to your own phone and watch it on the **Orders** screen.
- Check the store's **Events** tab if an order does not appear; it shows every webhook we received and why it was processed or ignored.

## FAQ

### Can I connect more than one store?
Yes. Add each store separately; each gets its own webhook URL and secret, and each call rule picks one store.

### Can I pause calls without deleting anything?
Yes. Pause the store (webhooks are still acknowledged with 200 but ignored), or turn a call rule off.

### Why is a step greyed out?
"Get a number to call from" unlocks after your business is verified. "Set up your first call rule" unlocks once you have a connected store and a number.

### Where do I find my API key?
API keys are in the Edesy app settings. The Order Calls portal itself does not need one; your store authenticates with the webhook signing secret.
