Voice Broadcasting Features

Every Voice Broadcasting Feature, Explained

A campaign is built in a 4-step wizard at voice-app.edesy.in: the message, the contacts, the calling settings and a final review with a test call and cost estimate. Here is what each step can do.

What Edesy voice broadcasting does

Edesy voice broadcasting calls a CSV or API contact list and plays your recorded or text-to-speech message, or bridges answered calls to free agents. It adds answering-machine detection, a backup caller ID with carrier failover, DNC suppression, dialing hours and a cost estimate before launch, at Rs 0.50 per minute.

Campaign features

What you can set on every broadcast or agent-dialer campaign.

Answering-machine detection

Turn on AMD to report whether a person or a voicemail picked up each call. It adds speech recognition to every answered call, which is billed separately, so it is off by default.

Backup caller ID with carrier failover

Pick a caller ID and a backup number on a different network. If the caller ID's network stops accepting calls, the campaign keeps dialing from the backup and switches back once the network recovers.

Cost estimate before launch

The review step estimates the campaign's cost from the number of contacts that will be called and an assumed call length, and shows it against your wallet balance. A campaign pauses itself if the balance runs out mid-run.

Test call

"Hear it before you launch": send the message to your own phone to check the audio or text-to-speech before a single customer is called.

DNC suppression

Numbers on your Do Not Call list and repeated numbers are removed automatically. The review shows rows uploaded, numbers that will be called, numbers on the DNC list, duplicates removed and unreadable numbers.

Dialing hours and scheduling

Only dial between set hours (09:00 to 21:00 by default, the hours permitted for promotional calls in India). A long list pauses outside the window and resumes the next day. Schedule a start time, or start the campaign yourself.

CSV or API leads

Upload a CSV of phone_number,name with an optional header row and consent_source and consent_timestamp columns that carry through to the results export. Or push leads in with POST /v1/campaigns/:id/leads.

Results, pause, resume and run again

Follow every call's outcome on the campaign's results page. Pause, resume or stop a running campaign, and duplicate it or run it again for a new list. Dispositions are sent by webhook (disposition.submitted).

Broadcast or agent dialer

Broadcast mode plays your message. Agent dialer mode bridges each answered call to a free agent in your Edesy contact center queue, paced at 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 lines per free agent.

How a campaign runs

The 4-step wizard, then the run.

  1. Step 1 of 5: Set up the campaign

    Name it, choose broadcast or agent dialer, pick the caller ID and backup caller ID, and set max concurrent calls, retry attempts, recording, AMD and dialing hours.

  2. Step 2 of 5: Add the message

    Upload a WAV or MP3 recording, or type the text to be spoken with text-to-speech.

  3. Step 3 of 5: Add contacts

    Upload a CSV or send leads through the API. DNC numbers and duplicates are removed automatically.

  4. Step 4 of 5: Review and launch

    Hear a test call on your phone, check the cost estimate against your wallet, then launch now or schedule a start time.

  5. Step 5 of 5: Watch the results

    See every call's outcome as it happens. Pause, resume or stop at any time, and run it again later.

Add leads to a running campaign

Push contacts into a campaign from your CRM or app instead of uploading a CSV. Send a batch in the leads array; your own external_id is echoed back on results and webhooks.

curl -X POST https://voice-api.edesy.in/v1/campaigns/CAMPAIGN_ID/leads \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sk_your_api_key" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "leads": [
      { "phone_number": "+919876543210", "name": "Asha", "external_id": "crm_1042" }
    ]
  }'
