A forwarding rule is the setup for one virtual number: the phones to ring, how they ring, the caller ID your team sees, whether they must press a key to accept, and what the caller hears while waiting. Each number has one rule, and every setting has a sensible default, so a new rule needs only the forward-to numbers.

Where to change them#
- forwarding.edesy.in: open the number under Forwarding Numbers. Number, label, forward-to list, strategy, ring time, caller ID, screening, connect on pickup and hold audio are all on the edit page.
- voice-app.edesy.in: the Call handling card on a number's page also sets per-number ring times and sticky agent.
- API: every setting, with PATCH
/v1/forwarding/rules/:id. See Rules API.
