Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, residential rooftop solar gets central financial assistance of Rs 30,000 for a 1 kW system, Rs 60,000 for 2 kW, and Rs 78,000 for 3 kW or more (the subsidy is capped at 3 kW). Special category states and UTs, including the North-Eastern states, hill states and island UTs, get 10% more: Rs 33,000, Rs 66,000 and Rs 85,800.
