Compliance and KYC

What Edesy checks before you get a number, the controls that keep your outbound calling within your own rules, and how recordings, webhooks and invoices are protected. Every item on this page is a working feature in the product today.

The short answer

Edesy verifies every business with KYC (PAN and Aadhaar, reviewed in about 24 hours) before it can buy phone numbers. Outbound campaigns and IVR calls skip numbers on your DNC suppression list and respect calling hours. Recordings sit in encrypted cloud storage behind signed links, webhooks are HMAC-SHA256 signed, and every top-up gets a GST invoice.

How KYC works

Done once per business, before your first number.

  1. Step 1 of 5: Sign up

Create your Edesy account. One login works across every Edesy app, and you can invite your team with roles.

  2. Step 2 of 5: Choose your business type

Individual, sole proprietor, partnership, private limited, public limited or LLP.

  3. Step 3 of 5: Upload PAN and Aadhaar

Submit the PAN and Aadhaar details for your business type in the portal.

  4. Step 4 of 5: Review in about 24 hours

Our team reviews the documents. You are notified when the review is complete, or told what to fix.

  5. Step 5 of 5: Buy numbers

Once approved, search and buy mobile, landline or toll-free numbers and attach them to the product you use.

Outbound calling controls

Tools that help you call only the people you should, at the right time.

DNC suppression list

Upload opt-outs to your do-not-call list. Campaigns and outbound IVR calls skip those numbers, and campaign reports count how many were suppressed.

Calling hours enforced

The outbound IVR API only places calls between 09:00 and 21:00 IST. Campaigns get a 09:00 to 21:00 dial window unless you deliberately set a different one.

Inbound blocklist

Block callers you do not want to hear from. Calls from blocked numbers are rejected before they reach your team or flow.

Reject flows in IVR

An IVR Studio Reject node can decline, return busy or return unavailable, so a flow can act as a blocklist too.

Recordings, webhooks and billing

How your data and money are handled.

Recordings behind signed links

Call recordings are kept in encrypted cloud storage. Playback and download use signed links rather than public URLs.

Recording toggle per number

Turn recording on or off for each phone number, so lines that should not be recorded are not.

Signed webhooks

Every webhook is signed with HMAC-SHA256 so you can verify it came from Edesy. Failed deliveries are retried after 30 s, 1 m, 2 m, 4 m and 8 m (6 attempts), with a delivery log and replay.

API keys and SIP credentials

API keys per workspace, Twilio-style Account SID and Auth Token, and SIP trunk passwords you can reveal or rotate. Trunks can also be locked to an IP allowlist.

GST invoices

Top up a prepaid INR wallet with Razorpay and get a GST invoice as PDF and email. Add your GSTIN to claim Input Tax Credit, and export transactions as CSV.

Workspaces and roles

Invite teammates into a workspace with a role, instead of sharing one login.

Recording consent: what to tell callers

If you record calls, tell the caller at the start, before any personal details are discussed. A short line in your greeting works, for example: "This call is recorded for quality and training." For AI calls, also say the caller is speaking with an automated assistant. In IVR Studio, put this in the first Say node, and turn recording off on numbers where you have no reason to record. Rules differ by sector, so confirm your wording with your compliance adviser. Our guide to recording consent wording has ready-made lines in English, Hindi and regional languages.
