For many COD buyers, a short Hindi call is easier to answer than a text. We call each cash-on-delivery customer in Hindi, read out their order and amount, and let them confirm or cancel with one key.
This is the default script. Every line is editable, and the customer name, store name, order number and amount are filled in for each order.
नमस्ते {customer name} जी, {store name} से आपका ऑर्डर {order number}, कुल राशि {COD amount}, कैश ऑन डिलीवरी पर है।
ऑर्डर कन्फ़र्म करने के लिए एक दबाइए। कैंसल करने के लिए दो दबाइए।
| Customer action | What they hear |
|---|---|
| Presses 1 | धन्यवाद! आपका ऑर्डर कन्फ़र्म हो गया है। |
| Presses 2 | आपका ऑर्डर कैंसल कर दिया गया है। धन्यवाद। |
| Presses nothing | हमें आपका जवाब नहीं मिला। हम आपको दोबारा कॉल करेंगे। धन्यवाद। |
Text-to-speech voices often misread digits inside a Hindi sentence. So the amount is never passed as a number. It is spelled out in Hindi words first, using lakh and hazaar:
| Amount | Spoken as |
|---|---|
| ₹245 | दो सौ पैंतालीस |
| ₹3,245 | तीन हज़ार दो सौ पैंतालीस |
| ₹1,00,000 | एक लाख |
The customer hears exactly the amount they owe on delivery, with no garbled numbers.
A phone call works for customers who don't use WhatsApp or ignore SMS, which is common in tier-2 and tier-3 towns.
Customers answer with 1 or 2 on the keypad. Nothing to read, reply to or click.
Use the English script for metro or English-preferring customers, from the same setup.
