To connect a number, complete KYC, buy an Indian number (mobile, landline, toll-free or 92-series), then open the flow in IVR Studio and choose Connect numbers, or assign it on the Numbers page. Callers to that number hear the flow once it is published. One flow can run on many numbers.
Steps#
- Complete KYC on the KYC page. Business types: individual, sole proprietor, partnership, private limited, public limited, LLP. Documents: PAN and Aadhaar. Review takes about 24 hours.
- Buy a number from the number marketplace. Number rental is billed monthly from your wallet. See Pricing.
- Publish the flow. A draft can't take calls.
- Connect the number. In the builder, open Connect numbers ("Choose which phone numbers run this flow") and tick the numbers. Or use the Numbers page.
- Call the number from your phone to confirm.
Flow states#
The Flows list shows whether a flow can take calls:
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Live | Published, and at least one number or automation points at it |
| Not in use | Published, but no number or automation points at it yet |
| Draft | Not published yet, so callers can't reach it |
Connect with the API#
POST/v1/ivr/numbers assigns a number to a flow:
{ "phone_number": "+919800000000", "flow_id": "5b1c2f0e-0000-4000-8000-000000000000" }
GET/v1/ivr/numbers lists assignments and DELETE/v1/ivr/numbers/{id} removes one. See Flows API.
Other ways to reach a flow#
- Outbound calls from your system with POST
/v1/ivr/calls. No inbound connection needed; the flow must be published. - Inbound routing in the Edesy voice app: an IVR Studio flow is one of the "when a call comes in" targets for a number.
