Reject

The Reject node declines the call before it connects, as declined, busy or unavailable.

1 min read

The Reject node declines the call before it is answered, so the caller hears a network tone instead of your IVR. Choose how it is declined: Declined, Busy or Unavailable, with an optional reason. Use it for a number that is out of service, after hours, or as a blocklist branch. A rejected call has no duration, so it is not charged.

Settings#

Field Default Options
Decline as Declined Declined (SIP 603), Busy (SIP 486), Unavailable (SIP 404)
Reason (optional) E.g. Number not in service

Uses#

  • Out of service: the "Reject all calls (out of service)" template declines every call on a decommissioned number.
  • Blocklist: route unwanted callers to Reject.
