Short answer: missed call marketing works when the ask is tiny ("give a missed call") and the follow-up is fast. The best Indian campaigns use one number per ad or option, count unique callers, and push every lead to a sales team or CRM within minutes.
Every idea below uses only things a missed call number does today on Edesy: auto-reject (caller pays nothing), caller capture, multiple numbers, unique-caller counts, CSV export and a signed real-time webhook. Ideas that need an automatic SMS or WhatsApp reply are marked on request: we set those up for your account quickly, but they are not self-serve.

1. One Number per Print Ad
Put a different missed call number on each newspaper, edition or ad size. Name each number after the placement. After a week the dashboard shows calls and unique callers per number, which is the cleanest attribution offline media can get. Read more on ad tracking with missed calls.
2. Hoardings and Outdoor
A hoarding gives you three seconds of attention. "Missed call 9XXXXXXXXX" is shorter than a URL and needs no smartphone. Send the webhook to your sales CRM so a person calls back while the driver still remembers the board. One number per site tells you which locations work.
3. Radio and TV Calls to Action
Broadcast creates bursts: thousands of people dial within a minute of the spot. Each number has a cap on simultaneous calls, so spread the response across several numbers (for example, one per channel or per region) instead of one. The Unlimited plan suits this volume.
4. On-Pack Offers
Print a missed call number on the pack for a cashback, warranty registration or loyalty entry. The unique-caller count tells you how many buyers engaged. If you want each caller to receive a code by SMS, that reply is available on request; otherwise call back or reward winners from the CSV.
5. Product Sampling
"Give a missed call to get a free sample." Download the CSV, call to collect the address, and ship. The missed call filters for intent before you spend on delivery. See product sampling.
6. Polls and Voting
Publish one number per option ("Team A: call 9XXX..., Team B: call 9YYY..."). Unique callers per number is your vote count, and callers pay nothing to vote. Media houses use this for audience polls. See voting and polling.
7. Contests and Lucky Draws
Every unique caller is one entry. Export the CSV at the close date and pick winners. Repeat calls do not create extra entries if you draw from unique numbers, but note that every call is still a separate event in the log. See contest entry.
8. Callback Request Line
"Missed call and we will call you back in 10 minutes." The webhook fires the moment someone dials, so your system can push the number to a calling queue. The callback is made by your team or your own system, for example with an outbound dialer or an AI voice agent as a separate product. See callback requests.
9. Admission Enquiries
Coaching institutes and schools print one number per centre or course on leaflets and banners. Counsellors work the list the same day. See admission enquiries.
10. Real Estate Site Enquiries
A number per project on hoardings and newspaper inserts. The webhook goes to the sales CRM, and the per-number dashboard shows which project and which media pulled enquiries.
11. Event and Webinar RSVP
"Give a missed call to register." Unique callers is your RSVP count, and the CSV becomes the reminder list. A confirmation SMS is available on request. See event registration.
12. Supporter and Pledge Drives
Political campaigns, NGOs and civic drives use missed calls to sign up supporters at scale. A state-level political campaign uses Edesy to pipe supporters into the candidate's website by webhook. Use several numbers and the Unlimited plan. Details in missed call campaigns for elections.
13. Feedback Yes/No
Two numbers: one for "satisfied", one for "not satisfied". Print them on the bill or the delivery slip. Count unique callers on each, and call back the unhappy ones. See feedback collection.
14. Dealer and Retailer Enquiries
FMCG and building-material brands run trade schemes where retailers give a missed call to express interest. One number per region routes leads to the right sales officer through your CRM.
15. Store Footfall Offers
A number per store on local flyers. The caller gets a call back with the offer, or an SMS coupon on request. Per-number counts show which neighbourhood responds.
What Every Good Campaign Has
- A clear promise. Say exactly what happens after the missed call ("we call you back within one hour", "your entry is registered").
- A fast follow-up. The value of a missed call lead drops quickly. Webhook into a CRM beats a weekly CSV.
- One number per thing you want to measure. Ad, option, store or channel.
- A test before launch. Dial each number from your own phone and check the log and webhook.
- Consent wording. If you will message people later, say so where you publish the number.

Where the Leads Should Land
For most small teams, the best destination is Edesy CRM: paste its webhook URL into the missed call portal and each call becomes a lead (free plan available). If you already use Salesforce, Zoho or HubSpot, we connect it for you, usually within a few days, using our webhook and API. See CRM integration.
What It Costs
Each number is ₹499 a month plus ₹0.30 per event delivered to a webhook, or free beyond rental if you only use the log and CSV. Above roughly 3,330 events a month per number, the ₹1,498 Unlimited plan is cheaper. Prices are plus GST. See missed call service pricing in India.
