How do I remove the background from my signature?

Drop a photo of your signature on plain paper. The paper and shadows are removed straight away. Choose Transparent PNG or your exam, check the preview, and download.

Why is part of my signature missing?

Thin or light strokes can fall below the cut-off. Move the Ink pickup slider towards Fainter ink too. If paper texture or shadows appear instead, move it the other way.

Can I get the signature in blue ink?

Yes. Choose Blue under Ink colour. Most exam forms ask for black ink, so check your notice first.

Is my signature uploaded?

No. The photo is processed in your browser and never sent to a server.

What sizes are the exam presets?

SSC 6 x 2 cm (10-20 KB), IBPS 140 x 60 px (10-20 KB), UPSC about 350 x 150 px (20-100 KB) and NEET 3.5 x 1.5 cm (10-30 KB). Requirements change between notifications, so check the official notice.

Taking the photo

Sign with a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper. Lined or coloured paper leaves lines behind.
Take the photo in daylight or good indoor light, straight from above, with the signature filling most of the frame.
Avoid your hand's shadow falling across the signature. Mild shadows are removed, but the cleaner the photo the crisper the result.

How the background is removed

The tool estimates the brightness of the paper across the photo, so shadows and uneven light are evened out, then keeps only the pixels clearly darker than the paper. Small specks are dropped, while separate parts of the signature such as dots are kept. The edges stay smooth instead of jagged. It works best on ink on paper; it is not meant for removing the background from photos of people.
