Via webhook: works today with a bridge on your store

COD Order Confirmation Calls for Magento

Magento Open Source doesn't send signed order webhooks on its own, so it connects through a small bridge: a webhook module or script on your store sends us each COD order, we call the customer, and we post confirm or cancel back for the bridge to add an order comment or cancel the order.

How it works on Magento

Works today through our generic webhook connection and a bridge on your store

Set up the webhook bridge
A webhook module or small script on your Magento store sends each new COD order to your unique webhook URL, signed with your secret.
Choose your calling rules
Calling hours in IST, delay after the order, retries, and which orders to call (payment method cashondelivery).
Customers get called
Hindi or English. Press 1 to confirm, 2 to cancel.
We post the result back
Your action URL receives confirm or cancel; the bridge adds an order comment or cancels the order in Magento.

What changes in your Magento admin

With the bridge in place, each outcome reaches your store as a signed request that the bridge turns into an order comment or cancellation.

Confirmed: order comment

The bridge adds a comment to the order history saying the customer confirmed on the call.

Cancelled: order cancelled

The bridge cancels the order in Magento when it receives a cancel.

Unreachable: shown in your dashboard

Orders that couldn't be reached are marked in your Edesy dashboard, and can be passed to the bridge if you want a comment.

Cancelled first: no call

If the bridge sends a cancellation before we call, the call is skipped.

What your Magento store needs today

  • A webhook bridge. A webhook extension or a short script that runs when an order is placed and POSTs it to your webhook URL as JSON, signed with HMAC-SHA256 using the secret we give you. The format is the same as our custom store API.
  • An action URL on your store (or in the bridge) that receives confirm or cancel, checks the signature, and adds an order comment or cancels the order.
  • COD orders identified by payment method cashondelivery, Magento's built-in Cash On Delivery method.

Good to know

  • The bridge is yours to run. We'll help you set it up and test it with a sample order, but it lives on your store. Our own Magento module is a later option if enough stores ask for it.
  • On Adobe Commerce? Adobe Commerce stores can use Adobe I/O Events instead, which is a separate planned integration. See the Adobe Commerce page.
