Video Speed Changer

Make a video faster or slower: from 0.25x slow motion to 4x fast forward. The sound changes speed with the picture and keeps its pitch, so voices sound natural, or you can leave it out. Everything runs in your browser, so your videos are never uploaded.

When people use it

Shorter tutorials and screen recordings

Play a long recording at 1.5x or 2x so it fits a Reel or keeps viewers watching.

Slow motion

Slow down a goal, a dance move or a pour to 0.5x or 0.25x.

Timelapse

Speed up a cooking, drawing or travel clip to 3x or 4x.

Changing a video's speed

What happens to the sound

With Keep the sound ticked, the audio is sped up or slowed down by the same amount, using a method that keeps the pitch. Voices don't turn squeaky when faster or deep when slower. At 3x and 4x speech is hard to follow, so many people remove the sound and add music afterwards.

How smooth will slow motion look?

Slowing a video down spreads its frames out: a 30 fps phone video at 0.5x plays at an effective 15 fps, so movement looks a little less smooth. For the smoothest slow motion, record at 60 fps or more on your phone first.

Large files and browser memory

The video is re-encoded in your browser, which takes about as long as it plays on a computer, and longer on a phone. Very long or 4K videos can run out of browser memory. If one fails, close other tabs or try it on a computer.
